A FULL-CIRCLE LOVE STORY

Engaged where they met, married where the first date ended

Tired of dating, both Claudette and Andrew gave the Bumble app one final go before meeting on February 5, 2016. Their first date took place at Butcher and the Rye, and Claudette immediately fell in love with Andrew’s big smile and dimples. Andrew then surprised her with tickets to the Arcade improv show, and they finished the evening with a nightcap at the Commoner in Hotel Monaco. In less than twenty-four hours, they had to see each other again and haven’t parted ways since. Almost a year later, while celebrating Claudette's 31st birthday, Andrew proposed. Afterward he took her to Eleven, where they enjoyed a special dinner. They then moved on to Butcher and the Rye; Andrew had rented out the upstairs bar for a surprise birthday/engagement party with all their friends, bringing their whole love story full circle.

Memorable Details

The couple chose Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh since they enjoyed a nightcap together there on their first date, giving the venue extra-special meaning. They love the urban feel of our hotel’s downtown location. The bride got ready with her bridesmaids in the Emperor Suite, while the groom prepped in the Rebellion Suite (after a Top Golf outing).

The happy couple raves that Hotel Monaco helped make their dreams a reality— and neither will ever forget their magical day.

"The ceremony took place on the Monaco rooftop, which proved the perfect place for the smaller, private affair they desired. The setup featured a beautiful chuppah with draped white linens and flowers (burgundy, blushes and creams) by Mt. Lebanon Floral, and petite, glass, geometric candles illuminated the aisle."

The flow of the wedding from the rooftop to the Soffia and Sheffield ballrooms was exactly what the pair had envisioned when transitioning the evening from “intimate” to “all-out party.” The reception featured a photo booth and tunes by DJ Underdog. The couple remembers slow dancing together toward the end of the night, taking a moment to look around and soak in the smiles on everyone's faces.
