As the adage goes: When you know, you know. While living in South Florida, Alicia once accompanied her friend to the airport to pick up her visitor (Jason). The connection between Alicia and Jason was immediate. During Jason's two-week vacation, the newly-acquainted pair fell madly in love, prompting him to fly home only to pack his bags and return to Florida ASAP. The rest, as they say, is happy, heartwarming history.
On January 9, 2016, the couple, who now lives in Pittsburgh and has a son named Chase, chose to stand before 75 friends and family members to renew their vows. (They had eloped the previous year.) They chose Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh as their venue; they deemed it "a mixture of classy and hip" and exactly what they wanted for their wedding.
"We knew Hotel Monaco would give us the luxury we wanted in our wedding, as well as a sense of youth and fun."
The couple took advantage of a variety of welcoming spaces—the Sofia Ballroom for the ceremony, the Sheffield Foyer for cocktail hour and the Sheffield Ballroom for the reception. Rooftop photos provided a beautiful cityscape backdrop; for the ceremony, the ballroom had been elegantly adorned in white—featuring winter-inspired details like white chairs, white-and-rhinestone candle holders and columns with cascading white hydrangeas, white snaps and white roses.

When the ceremony began, all nerves evaporated as Alicia walked down the isle to "Trouble Heartache and Sadness" by Ann Pebbles. Alicia gushes, "Between the flowers and Hotel Monaco's décor, I truly felt like a princess." But the true star? The couple's 9-month-old son, an early walker, who impressively scooted down the aisle between two grandmothers.
During cocktail hour, "the food and service surpassed everyone's expectations," and a reception highlight included an energetic dance party, fueled by the couple's contagious joy. For the honeymoon, the couple chose island life, blissfully unwinding in the sun-kissed Bahamas.
